How Tech Deck works

Where the listings come from

Tech Deck watches hundreds of employers' own job boards and re-reads every one of them every hour. Each posting is then filtered down to the roles a non-technical student can actually get — the marketing, sales, finance, operations and analytics jobs inside technology companies — and everything engineering-track is dropped before it ever reaches the board.

What survives is ranked for you. Sort by Most recent and you get the newest first; sort by Most relevant and the board reorders around the categories and companies you actually open and apply to. A role that stops appearing on the employer's board across repeated complete scans is marked closed rather than left up.

Geographically the board is United States only. A role is published when its location resolves to the US; a posting that says only “Remote”, without saying remote from where, is held back rather than assumed domestic.

Business tools are not held against a role — CRM systems like Salesforce and HubSpot, BI tools like Tableau, Power BI and Looker, and everyday SQL and Excel all appear throughout the board. What matters is the central function of the job, not the keywords in it.

What is deliberately excluded

Software engineering in every form, data and ML engineering, AI and research engineering, security and hardware engineering, quantitative development, algorithm-heavy data science, and product management. Tech Deck is built for non-technical students looking for internships in tech, so the board only holds roles you can actually get without an engineering background.

What Tech Deck will not claim to know

Compensation, deadlines, sponsorship and eligibility are shown only when the employer actually published them. Everything else says “Not listed”. Freshness is labelled honestly too: Detected is when Tech Deck first saw the role, and Posted appears only when the employer supplied a publication date worth trusting. An upstream edit never becomes a fake “posted today”.
